Front Floating Brake Shoe Conversion Kit for Citroen Traction Avant (4 Cylinder)

Replacement floating brake shoe kit for the Citroen Traction Avant. Sold as a Pair.

This conversion kit allows for replacement of the original brake shoe design that has three fundamental problems:

1. Original linings are only 5 mm thick and hence only work well with a brand new drum (often not the case during restorations).
2. For the brakes to work properly the radius of the linings has to be the same as the drum and with the point above that is not going to happen after 60+ years service so adjustment is key
3. The adjustment system devised by Citroen is virtually impossible to achieve – the result is that all the force of the braking is taken on the leading edge which quickly wears down the lining resulting in very poor performance quickly.
